Bondi Alfresco is an addition to the space between a 1920’s bungalow house and a detached studio, transforming what was a residual backyard into a place for gathering, conversation, and everyday ritual.
Rather than treating the garden as a secondary space to the main home, the project establishes it as shared ground between living and work. The courtyard becomes an outdoor dining room — a place for gathering, conversation, and everyday ritual.
A superfine pivot door refines the threshold to the original house, opening the home fully to the garden. Oversized concrete pavers are set within planting, forming a wandering connection between studio and home and softening the transition between built form and landscape.
